LAB FACILITIES

Science Laboratories

We have fully stocked advanced labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The lab classes are held under the close supervision of teachers and lab assistants.
Our Science labs provide students an opportunity to experiment and reinforce their learning’s - adding a much needed practical approach.

Chemistry Laboratory

The Chemistry Department builds foundations for excellence and spur development of the institutions by igniting and nurturing enthusiasm, interests and passion, in the study of Chemistry to the young minds and discover their talents both in theory and practical Chemistry.

Computer Laboratory

The Computer Lab is well resourced with high-speed central servers and the latest educational software (with adequate security and safety features). Every student has access to a terminal in the lab. We are also keen to teach children about personal safety in the use of social media to ensure they are fully aware of the health and social risks involved. Parents can access the up-to-date progress of their children in each subject via the school’s website.

Physics Laboratory

The Physics Department aims to provide a welcoming environment for students at all levels to engage them with Physics in the classroom and research laboratory with dedicated faculty members. Students obtain a sound grounding in Physics for a wide range of careers of their choice.

Social Science Lab

Social Science Laboratory has equipment, apparatus and materials required for each subject, such as maps, globes, ethnic artefacts, etc. to promote practical as well as theoretical learning. It provides a work space for students and teachers for interactive activities such as role playing, visualisation, competing / cooperating, problem solving or focus group discussions.

Mathematics Lab

The Maths Lab allows students to explore mathematical concepts via games, puzzles and other modern teaching aids. In addition to teaching in the lab, students are encouraged to use lab facilities on their own to inculcate in them a spirit of discovery and invention.

Language Development Laboratory

Our Language Laboratory is fitted with latest multimedia equipment and audio-visual aids. Students are able to practise speaking a new language, record their work and part in interactive sessions to improve their language skills while enjoying the experience.

The spacious central library at VMHS School is the heart of the campus. Encouraging students to realise the importance of language and literature, the library is a throw-back to a simpler world – where reading is the cornerstone for development of young minds.

The well-stocked library, consisting of variety of books and journals belonging to various disciplines, which allows the students to develop and sharpen their knowledge. There are volumes on life histories of National Leaders, Politicians and Philosophers. English and Tamil literatures and variety of pictorial books that trigger and nurture the analytical and intellectual thinking of students. The Library is being upgraded regularly in synchronization to the interests and growing needs of the students.

PRIMARY LIBRARY

Teachers no longer transfer just the facts and concepts into passive students' heads but rather facilitate to discovery relevant information on their own or help them to perceive differently. An exhaustive collection of books, magazines and journals help the students to discover the joy of reading. The fading art of reading is encouraged among students and appreciated by giving prizes. Dictionaries, encyclopaedias, novels, story books, books on General knowledge, science, history and all other topics around 6000 in numbers are categorised and arranged for student usage. A spacious and quite library with 6000 books in all fields provides literary support to staff and students. 500 Books of Amar Chitra Katha is a mandatory read for all our students to improve their moral values and insight.

TATA CLASS EDGE – SMART CLASS

In order to best facilitate learning, we offer smart classrooms that use audio-visual methods of engaging students with their lessons.
Our smart classes are equipped with latest innovative technology including LCD projectors and Interactive Digital board systems along with computers. Sections of curriculum are diligently imparted through smart class rooms that are networked to large repositories of digital content.

SUITS

School -University-Industry-Tie-Up Scheme Computer Programme is a valued added initiative conducted as a part of the computer science syllabus to students from Vth to IXth standard.This gateway to skill based learning in IT is provided by Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, Bharathidhasan University. Students show immense interest in the designing program which is spaced as 5 separate 1 year certificate courses that culminate to become a diploma program at the end. This program empowers students at an earlier age to become professionals.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT ROOM

Every teacher in VMHSS takes honour in bringing out and nurturing the latent potential of our young learners.This is a new venture is an initiative taken by our school management to develop and encourage the fine motor skills and creative aptitude of every learner. Our students look forward to this experience once a week where they indulge in creating objects on their own. The objects created are then presented to the classmates and displayed. The surreal experience of blooming of fresh talent is witnessed by teachers as children emerge out of their shell. Cards, sticks, colours, stickers, dolls and other materials are provided to the children here.

VOCABULARY LAB

Our world thrives on communication. Communication depends largely on vocabulary. In order to improve the vocabulary of our students and create interest in learning and ponder with words a novel method is initiated by the school management. A room with 100 dictionaries is allocated for the students to delve among its pages where they can explore and discover the world of new words and expand their knowledge. This venture is looked upon as a priceless investment on the future of every learner who has come under the shadow of Vidiyal. We have also developed a language lab in partnership with Thulir where the students with the help of headsets and microphone will explore English in a fun way. This lab helps them to become familiar with the sounds and pronunciation of each word and helps them in reading and speaking English.

ANNADAVAKOODAM : THE MEDITATION CENTRE

As much as we believe in education, we believe that every individual has to learn and acclimatize a positive and purposeful outlook towards life. Every day begins and ends with a general prayer.The postulates of healthy living are reinforced in every mind. The powerful tools to exploit the strength of the inner potential is realised with yoga and meditation. Students are encouraged to enjoy and delight in the presence of the omnipotent from a very tender age. Our institution has an exclusive meditation hall for students to coagulate the mind, willpower, physical and mental ability to concentrate on studies and propel thoughts to action of their life. 'Sathsangam' means gathering of goodness. Sathsangams are organized in the school regularly on auspicious days to ensure stress free environment.

THE RHYMES ROOM

Songs are an expression of happiness for little toddlers. The rhymes room is an effort to instil the feeling of joy while listening and singing popular rhymes. This exercise enables the little once to imitate the words and learn pronunciation on par with others around the world. Singing the rhymes with action is an experience looked forward by every child. For this activity we have a separate hall equipped with state of the art 50 Inch HD television with surround sound, so that our toddlers can learn by seeing and listening.

CANTEEN

At VMHSS, special care is taken to provide nutritious and delicious food to all at our students at the Annathavakoodam. Healthy snacks are prepared to cater to the need of our growing youngsters with homely care. Food prepared here is very hygienic and served hot. We believe that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body so a sumptuous lunch is given at a subsidised rate that is affordable by all. Most of the vegetable and milk are procured from our farm in our locality and special care is taken to see that all ingredients are of good quality.

Transport

Our School has outsourced a fleet of buses. Safety on the road is given paramount importance. The students embark and disembark within the school campus under the vigilance of transport managers and attenders. An escort helping staff accompanies the children in the bus. All the buses are equipped with a medical kit for emergency. There is easily accessible GPS Tracking available for all the busses. In case of a delay due to unforeseen circumstances, parents are immediately informed through SMS. We provide school transport to many sectors of Trichy.

Hostel

Considering the safety and convenience of the students from far off places, a well-furnished hostel is provided close by the school premises. This elegant boarding house with safe and furnished rooms is situated in a fabulous site with a beautiful lush green surrounding. The social and educational needs of the students are kept at the close watch by trained, experienced and qualified personnel, who watch over and assist the inmates quiet consistently in all their activities.

Counselling

The school has experienced and seasoned counsellors to guide and support students in all ways, be it academic, social, behavioural or emotional. They work in collaboration with the teachers, parents and special educators to create a healthy learning environment that makes the children feel comfortable and happy.

Annadhanam

There is free noon meal available to deserving students, villagers and peasants at the Annathavakoodam. This is being carried throughout the year.
