During the course of study, for most students a hostel campus becomes almost a second home. With the lives of hundreds of students revolving around the hostel campus, it is crucial for any Institution to provide the best of facilities and amenities in order to create an environment that facilitates learning.

Quality infrastructure is critical to the well-being of students living within the campus. More than 600 students can be accommodated in the hostel. Each hostel room provides an amiable atmosphere and pollution-free environment, conducive to the mental, physical and spiritual development of the students and helps them become self-reliant.

The hostel management comprises of experienced persons who strive to provide the best atmosphere for the students. The warden has been trained to manage the hostel and also to handle any issues that may arise in the normal functioning. Adequate and well-trained maintenance staff, takes care to see that the hostel is maintained to the highest of standards.

FOOD

 

As the students - who are from all over the states and have diverse tastes, the menu is planned as a mix of both North Indian and South Indian food with variety every day. Great emphasis is laid on hygiene, quality and cleanliness of the food which is prepared in the hostel's own kitchen which is staffed by experienced and skilled cooks.

 

Hostel Mess

 

The hostel mess caters to all the food and nutritional requirements of the students. They are served a well-balanced diet along with milk at the hostel. The menu for all meal sessions is changed regularly to provide variety and wholesome nourishment.

 

 

 

Kitchen

 

The kitchen is well maintained to ensure high standards of hygiene. It is also well furnished with modern methods of cookery replete with contemporary cooking gadgets.

 

LAUNDRY

 

We provide laundry facility, where students can get their clothes washed and 100% dry in a clean and hygienic environment with good quality washing and drying irrespective of any weather. It will be a big relief for the students residing in the hostels. An Ironing facility would also be provided to the students.

 

 

Management committee

 

A Hostel Management committee looks after the day-to-day functioning of the hostel. The committee includes representatives of the students apart from the committee members of the management. Students are encouraged to be actively involved in the smooth running of the hostel and help to maintain discipline and a healthy atmosphere.

 

Medical facilities

 

The health of the children is adequately watched over in the hostel. It is monitored under the care of a professional Medical Practitioner. No stone is left unturned when it comes to the physical well-being of any child. The students are periodically examined by E.N.T., Eye and Dental specialists. Also, the services of the General and the Super-Speciality Hospitals, which are located in the vicinity, are extended to the inmates of the hostel whenever necessary.

 

HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

  1. Ragging is strictly prohibited.
    The Tamil Nadu Legislative Council had passes an act called the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997 on 14th February 1997 (Act No.7 OF 1997)
    As per the act –
    • Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is strictly prohibited.
    • Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in abets or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall on conviction, be punished as per the rules.
    • Any student convicted of an offence of ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institution and such student shall not be admitted to any other educational institution for a period of five years from the date of order of such dismissal.
  2. Absence from hostel
    • Students should take prior approval from the Rector / Warden before remaining absent from the hostel, whether to go home or local guardian.
    • Absence from hostel without permission is liable to heavy fine and punishment.
    • The students involved in common off shall be detained if there is shortage of attendance as prescribed by the rules of the school. Further he / she will be expelled from the hostel.
  3. Timings for Oxford Boys Hostel: 5:00 am to 9:00 pm
    Timings for Trinity Girls Hostel : 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
    After this timings all students will not be allowed to enter the hostels without permission of hostel authorities
  4. If the student damages any Hostel property (like wash basin, furniture, Electrical equipment, walls etc.,) the loss will be recovered from the Hostel deposit
  5. It is mandatory for girl students to take a written permission from Warden / Rector for any absence in hostel during night hours (i.e outstation stay). If any girl student disobeys this rule, a heavy fine will be imposed first time and student will be immediately expelled from the hostel, if it is repeated second time.
  6. During stay in hostel campus tobacco consumption and any alcoholic consumption is strictly prohibited. Any complaint regarding alcohol consumption and nuisance by a concerned student will be considered seriously and the student will be expelled from the hostel and he / she will have to appear before School Disciplinary Committee.
  7. Students should keep their room spic and span.
  8. Room occupiers will ensure that their room is free from pornographic literature, films, CDs etc. If any of these are found in room, all room occupants will be held responsible.
  9. No guests are allowed to stay in hostel without permission of the Rector / Warden. If any outsider is found in the room without permission, the students will be held responsible and such students will be expelled from the hostel.
  10. Once room is allotted to a student, he / she is not allowed to change the room in any circumstances, without prior permission of the Rector / Warden. If found, strict action will be taken.
  11. Water and electricity should be used economically. Use of electrical appliances e.g Heater, rod, stove, kettle, iron, etc is strictly prohibited. Heavy fine will be charged if the students are found using such appliances and they will be liable for dismissal from the hostel.
  12. Students should switch off the light and fan while going out of the room.
  13. Students should always carry the Hostel Identity Card and produce on demand.
  14. Students of hostel should obey the rules set up the mess-committee to maintain discipline in the mess hall. Mess fess has to be paid in the beginning. Only hostel students are permitted to avail the facility of mess. No guests or outsiders are permitted to take meal in the mess without the prior permission of Rector / Warden and mess committee, if permitted they have to pay prescribed mess charges.
  15. The jewellery, money, lap-top, mobile etc., (costly items) should be kept in safe custody, on student’s own risk. The authority holds no responsibility for the theft or loss.
  16. Do not keep your keys on the door frames etc., or handover to your friends.
  17. The right to frame new rules, if required, is reserved with the authority to maintain peaceful, secured and a healthy atmosphere in the hostel premises.
  18. If anybody is found disobeying instructions of security guard, misbehaving in the hostel premises or school premises or on road, which will damage the image of the institution, he / she shall be punished and may be expelled from the hostel permanently.
  19. The decision of the Rector shall be final on the matters pertaining to the hostel.
  20. Misuse of internet facility in the hostels will attract severe punishment.
  21. Hostel administration is not responsible for loss of any personal belongings of hostel students (eg. money, mobile, laptop, books, calculator, ornaments etc.)
  22. Any kind of in-disciplinary behaviour, eg. shouting, writing on walls, playing outdoor games in hostel premises throwing paper etc through windows is strictly prohibited.
